Originally constructed as an apartment building in 1963 and later converted into a hotel in 1976, the One Washington Circle Hotel is a 109,000 gsf ten-story building in the West End community of historic Foggy Bottom. The building has 126 balconies with a total balcony area of 17,000 gsf. TCE provided design and construction oversight services for concrete balcony repairs. The scope of work included removal of the existing tile, repair of the concrete, repair of the masonry at the balconies and facade, routing and sealing cracks in the concrete, and application of a urethane deck coating to the top surface and a breathable coating to the balcony soffit.
